National Teen Driver Safety Week (October 20 – 26th, 2024)

10/18/24 - Somerville High School Assembly

The National Teen Driver Safety Week (October 20 – 26th, 2024) is a time to raise awareness about the risks that teen drivers face and to reduce the number of accidents involving young drivers. This week serves as a reminder to both teens and their parents of the importance of responsible driving.  Inexperience behind the wheel, combined with risky behaviors, can lead to fatal accidents.

The Vincent R. Gagliardi Foundation was thrilled to welcome Cara Filler, a renowned speaker, author, and entrepreneur, for a special event on Friday at the Somerville High School. Cara recounted her profound personal experience of losing her twin sister in a tragic car crash caused by reckless driving, captivating the SHS Sophomores who are currently enrolled in drivers’ education. We deeply appreciate Cara for her powerful and inspiring presentation!

Car crashes are the leading cause of unintentional deaths for U.S. teenagers.  The VRG Foundation is using the National Teen Driver Safety Week as a platform to create positive change.

Please take driving seriously and make good decisions.     Do it for Vincent.
