2022 Vincent R. Gagliardi Memorial Scholarship Awarded

2022 Scholarship winner - Julia McKenna

On June 1, 2022, the Gagliardi family of Branchburg awarded the 1st Annual Vincent R. Gagliardi memorial scholarship to Ms. Julia McKenna.

Julia amazed us with her many achievements and accomplishments during her four years at Somerville High School. She participated in the Somerville Academy for Liberal Arts (SALA) program, earning her Associates Degree from Raritan Valley Community College. She is a member of the Raritan Valley Community College PHI Theta Cappa Honor Society, Somerville High School National Honor Society, Drama Club, Soccer, Track, Ski Club and Chess Club.

Vincent’s smile was infectious. We truly miss his laugh, his hugs, his gorgeous blue eyes, and his funny, easy-going personality. But most of all, we miss Vincent’s special gift of making everyone feel important and loved. Today, Vincent lives on in the many people who loved him.

Vincent Gagliardi was tragically killed in an automobile accident in Branchburg on October 8, 2021. The family of Vincent Gagliardi have established the Vincent R. Gagliardi Memorial Scholarship for students who are graduating from Somerville High School. “We have a commitment to honor his memory and his legacy. We decided to start an annual scholarship memorial to celebrate a deserving Somerville High School student and to keep Vincent’s memory alive.”
